LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS:

  • Directory of Tennessee Leadership Programs – Annual publication free to members. This directory is a wealth of information at your fingertips.  Peers you can contact to get information, share forms/templates, agendas, solve problems and many other formats of sharing information.
  • Grants – Leadership programs can apply for a grant (up to $500 with a one to two match) to help with program development. This is a great resource when communities have challenges raising funds to broaden their program.
  • Regional TACL Workshop – Each grand division of the state has representatives on our TACL Board.  Representatives from East, Middle and West sponsor a Regional TACL workshopto help you develop a network in your part of the State.  We hope you will attend when you get your invitation.  They have great speakers and the peer to peer idea sharing can infuse new ideas into your own program.
  • Peer to Peer Assistance – Members of our TACL Board are available and willing to travel to your city to help with creating a leadership program, provide advice and help to renew a program, provide organization for creating an alumni association. Just contact our Board President and he/she will help get the best person for the requested assistance.  Board member: click here.
  • Conference Scholarships – Scholarships are available for programs that have small budgets.  Two scholarships are available in each grand division (forms on our website).  Scholarships cover not only the Registration Fee but also two nights’ hotel accommodations. A great benefit of membership for six people across the state working with leadership programs.
  • Annual TACL Conference – Our TACL Conference, which rotates the host region across the grand divisions of the State each year.  That means the conference will be in your backyard every third year.  Benefits of attending the Conference:

o   Speakers sharing best practices that you can incorporate into your program to enhance the curriculum.

o   Develop a network of relationships with other program directors/board/alumni which you can call when you have a question.

o   Develop a list of potential speakers/hands-on activities/program topics/fundraising ideas/alumni program ideas and retention tips, etc.

o   When you bring Board members with you it increases their buy-in of your leadership program and they work even harder and sell the program to others in your community.

o   The TACL Board also provides an opportunity to recognize an alumnus in your community that has been a strong supporter of your program, as well as a servant leader in your community by nominating them for the TACL Servant Leadership Award.

 o   One of our peers is recognized as the TN Leadership Educator of the Year at the Conference.

o   One Outstanding Leadership Program is recognized and receives an award at each Conference.
